On April 13, the Sydney Morning Herald published an article that discusses recent research and studies conducted in the United States that show that woman who consume coffee on a regular basis could possibly lower their risk of suffering from a stroke.

Coffee has also been associated with helping to lower the risk of diabetes, Parkinson's disease and colon cancer. It can elevate mood and reduce headaches. It has even been shown to help prevent cavities.

What are some of the negative effects of coffee?

Studies have shown that caffeine, the main ingredient in coffee, is a mildly addictive stimulant. Excessive coffee, or caffeine, consumption can lead to increased heart rate and blood pressure as well as irregular heartbeat. Studies have also shown that coffee may contribute to health issues such as cancer, osteoporosis and it could have negative effects on women's breast health.
